
Theft is when someone takes your belongings by force or without your knowledge.
Theft is considered a violent crime if the theft involves violence against the victim, as in the case of robbery.
Theft is considered a property crime if the malefactor does not assault the victim during the commission of the crime, such as in shoplifting.
