The Ville de Montréal 9-1-1 Emergency Centre serves as a portal for all emergency calls made on the island of Montréal, providing service to a population of 1.8 million residents.

Everyone who calls 9-1-1 is asked a few questions to help the dispatcher accurately establish the type of emergency and send the right responders to the appropriate location.

The 9-1-1 Emergency Centre plays a critical role in the organization of emergency services on the island. Cleary 9-1-1 is not an information service. People who need information about a municipal service are invited to dial 3-1-1.
