
Commandant: Josée Blais
Ms. Blais has been the commander at Poste de quartier 48 since January 2012. She began her career with the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal in October 1988, in West Island.
During her first years with the Service, Ms. Blais held several different positions, including patroller downtown and supervisor in a number of different neighbourhoods, such as Côte-des-Neiges and Bordeaux-Cartierville. She also served as supervisor-consultant with the Section prévention et relation avec la communauté.
Ms. Blais was promoted to the position of commander in June 2001, when she was named chief of PDQ 16. She later participated in the establishment of the Direction régionale Ouest (2004) and the creation of the Direction stratégique, serving as unit chief for the Section méthodes et processus (2005). Over the last four years, she has been involved in the development and implementation of a strategic information management system within the SPVM.
Academically, Ms. Blais has a multidisciplinary BA from the Université de Montréal and she is currently pursuing studies at the École national de l’administration publique (ENAP) to earn a master’s degree.
Josée Blais is pleased to be back at work in an operational unit and especially happy to be joining the team at PDQ 48. She looks forward to working with all the unit’s stakeholders to provide excellent service to the residents in the eastern side of the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
