Commandant: Martin Grenier
Martin Grenier began his police career in 1994 in Notre‑Dame‑de‑Grâce, where he spent over five years. In 1999, he was promoted to senior officer in Rosemont and then, a year later, he became a sergeant in the same neighbourhood. During all those years, he also supported the Section formation by training police cadets every year.
In 2001, he was loaned to the ÉNPQ (École Nationale de Police du Québec), where he worked as an instructor for new recruits for three years before being promoted to coordinator of the initial basic training program. In this position, he had the opportunity to develop solid connections with all the police organizations in Québec.
On his return to the SPVM, he served as shift supervisor and advisor at SPVM headquarters, specifically in the Recrutement et sélection, Planification stratégique and Vigie des pratiques policières sections. Subsequently, he became the shift supervisor at Poste de quartier 20. In February 2012, he was appointed senior nightshift officer in the Vigie des pratiques policières. During these years, he gained a wide variety of rewarding operational experience by supporting first responders during major events.
Commandant Grenier is a graduate of the Université de Montréal, where he pursued several different study programs: bachelor’s of physical education, certificate in criminology and certificate in police management. He also has a master’s of public administration that he earned at the École Nationale d'Administration publique (ÉNAP).
He was proud to be named commander of Poste de quartier 46 in April, and he is counting on the good working climate within the team to create staff satisfaction and, by extension, the best possible client service. He believes that the professional attitude of the police officers at PDQ 46 will make a big difference in the heart of the community they serve.
