Commandant: André-Guy Lamothe
André-Guy Lamothe has been in command at Poste de quartier 44 (PDQ 44) since November 2011.
A native of Montréal-Nord, Mr. Lamothe joined the Service de police dela Villede Montréal (SPVM) in 1989, serving as duty officer in the following sectors: LaSalle, Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Verdun, Ville-Émard, Lachine, Saint-Pierre, Dorval and downtown Montréal.
He then worked with a regional intervention group (GRISOU) before being appointed supervisor inWest Island, in1996. In2001, he supervised a special intervention group, and in 2003 he was transferred to Côte-des-Neiges where he developed partnerships with the cultural communities in the neighbourhood. He was promoted to acting lieutenant in 2004.
As an advisor in région Nord in November 2005, he handled various corporate mandates, including those involving car chases. He also participated in an innovative project dealing with communities of practice and coaching in the judicious use of force.
In spring 2006, Mr. Lamothe was named commandant exécutif of the Division de la qualité des services before becoming commandant of PDQ33 inNovember 2006.
After taking a bachelor's degree at Université McGill, Mr. Lamothe earned a graduate diploma in public administration at Université Concordia.
Commandant Lamothe is a dynamic man who plans to step up road security operations, take action against crime and the emergence of street gangs, and leverage increased police presence to improve the citizens' quality of life and sense of security.
