Marc Charbonneau,
commandant of PDQ 30
Commandant: Marc Charbonneau
Marc Charbonneau was proud to be appointed commander of Poste de quartier 30, in the St-Michel borough in November 2011.
Mr. Charbonneau began his career with the Service de police de la ville de Montréal as a patroller in Verdun and then moved to downtown Montréal. After more than a year as senior officer, he was promoted to sergeant in October 2004, to serve as shift supervisor in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. He held the same role in Mercier and then in Côte-des-Neiges. On May 1, 2011, he was appointed commander in the Section de la Vigie des Pratiques Policières and was in charge of operations for the entire island of Montréal. During those years, he acquired solid experience by working on a wide variety of mandates and assignments.
Commandant Charbonneau’s thirst for knowledge has led him to pursue a certificate, a BA and an MA from the Université de Montréal in law, education and administration. He has also been teaching policing techniques and other courses for over 20 years.
At PDQ 30, Commandant Marc Charbonneau succeeds other dedicated officers who have worked to build a partnership with the local residents as well as community organizations and institutions, and he intends to maintain and enhance those harmonious relations.
He feels honoured to join the great team at PDQ 30, which is a model of community-anchored police.
“It will be a pleasure to work with you”
