Commandant Pierre Liboiron
After 21 years of experience with the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal, Commandant Pierre Liboiron was named chief of Poste de quartier 13 on January 16, 2012.
Mr. Liboiron is originally from LaSalle, and he began his career as a patroller in the sectors of Vieux-Montréal, Petite Bourgogne, Pointe-St-Charles and Verdun.
He then served as supervisor at the Verdun and Lachine stations, and later as sergeant-detective for the Région Ouest, in property and violent crimes.
In 2004, he was promoted to the position of neighbourhood lieutenant for the PDQ serving the city of Westmount and Ville-Marie borough. Before his appointment at PDQ 13, Commandant Liboiron served as chief of the Éclipse section, where he gained extensive experience working against violent crime.
With a certificate in administration from the HEC Montréal, Mr. Liboiron has helped train new supervisors for the SPVM and other police services around the province, teaching the principles of personnel management.
Commandant Liboiron is very pleased to be joining a committed team and determined to offer quality service to the people of LaSalle. He intends to pool all the resources of his unit and to work closely with the SPVM’s partners in the area in order to maintain a safe and pleasant living environment.
