Commandant Dominic Harvey 

Commandant Dominic Harvey began his police career in 1990, in Montréal. He has been directing police operations as commandant of Poste de quartier 8 since March 31, 2008.

During his career, Mr. Harvey has served as commandant in the boroughs of Verdun (2001), LaSalle (2002), and Outremont & Plateau Mont-Royal (2002-2005). He was then assigned to the Division planification opérationnelle - Service des opérations corporatives (2005-2008), in the Centre de commandement (CCTI) as a chargé d'opération. He was also responsible for planning corporate crowd control services at major sports events and festivals, and he worked with Mesures d'urgence et d'antiterrorisme.

Commandant Harvey has a Bachelor's of Science from the Université de Montréal, a certificate in industrial relations from the Université de Montréal, a certificate in service administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal, and a certificate in law from the Université de Montréal.

Mr. Harvey understands the important role the team at PDQ 8 have to play in achieving the goal of maintaining a safe and peaceful environment for the people of Lachine. He firmly believes that the strong relationship between citizens, elected officials, other stakeholders and police in Lachine is an asset that will help improve the quality of life in the borough.

As a result of the new service coverage plan unveiled by the SPVM, PDQ 8 now has a new team of police officers who will be able to provide important services to our residents. This team - the Module d'actions par projets (project action module or MAP) - will reinforce police interventions on a broad series of issues.

A special telephone line: 514-280-9308 has been set up for citizens who wish to provide information to the police, anonymously or otherwise. We encourage our residents to use it.
