This type of crime becomes more frequent and generally occurs on the street or in a parking lot near our commercial establishments.
In most cases, the suspect will ask for some information to their victim and distract them in different ways. During a moment of inattention of the victim, the suspect takes advantage to appropriate the contents of their wallet. The suspects work in groups of about three people as much men or women.
Station 4 wishes to remind the following safety rules for its citizens, to help prevent theft of wallets in purses or pick pocketing:
. Always keep your purse in front of you, rather then on the side or slightly behind you, to see it at all times
. Never keep anything of value in your purse.
. Be wary when a stranger asks you for some information.
Don’t forget that the thief is watching you. Don’t become a target. We recommend that children not speak to strangers. Why would you do this?
