Internet luring of minors: the SPVM is seeking potential victims of David Rossy

06 october 2017

Montréal, October 6, 2017 -  On October 4, 2017, the Sexual Exploitation Unit, Child Pornography and Luring Division of the Section des crimes majeurs of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) have arrested 30-year-old David Rossy on charges of Internet luring of a minor. Investigators have reason to believe there may be other victims.

The suspect made a video court appearance on October 5, and remained in custody until his next Court appearance, on October 10.

Modus operandi
David Rossy initiates contact with his victims using Instagram. He claims to work for fashion2mtl, using the handle Anna Stein to cover up his true identity. He asks his victims to send sexual pictures of themselves. He then offers them a photo shoot in exchange for a significant sum of money. Should they refuse, the suspect then threatens to share the sexual photos received with his entourage and to post them online.

David Rossy also uses handles soho.marc and eatndrinkslow on Instagram and SnapChat to commit his crimes. When using these profiles, the suspect lures his victims with expensive gifts in exchange for sexual pictures and videos.

David Rossy is a 30-year-old man. He has a tanned complexion. He is 5'10 (1.78 m) and weighs 220 lbs (100 kg). He has black hair with a receding hairline.

Anyone who may have been a victim of David Rossy is asked to go to their neighbourhood police station or to call 9-1-1 to file an official complaint.
