Interview : Pascal K. Quilès

Why did you choose to be a collision technician?
I was always attracted to the world of cars. I studied mechanical engineering at the Cégep.
What do you like the most about your daily work?
To be on a scene of an accident and analyse it - the technical side of collisions fascinates me.
And what do you find most difficult?
To work on a case where young children are victims as I can see my own small children in these tragedies...
What is your greatest challenge?
To keep my mind on each crime scene because it is dangerous to fall into routine.
What are you most proud of?
When my testimony makes the difference in a criminal case - it is always gratifying to see your work appreciated, internally and externally.
Can you tell us a story that would illustrate the characteristics of your work?
At my age, I need glasses to read the small screen of my electronic devices. At accident scenes, I am constantly searching for somebody who could lend me their glasses, because I always forget mine!
What is the principal quality needed to perform your duties?
Being open-minded.
