The Service des enquêtes spécialisées (SES) supports all units of the Service to attain their objectives by offering specialized services of investigation, intervention, support and service to the court.

The SES is committed to offering a high quality service to the public while contributing to:

- developing and maintaining the expertise necessary according to our skills and specializations;

- assuming the leadership of certain high-risk events, in particular, barricaded persons and hostage taking;

- developing partnerships with other Police and institutional organizations in order to solve complex criminal phenomena, mainly organized crime and terrorism;

- directing and targeting SES interventions according to the priorities of the Service and criminal problem categories;

- communicating situational reports to the personnel of the SPVM and making risk assessments in order to help understand certain problems and better identify tendencies.
