Montréal metro

Find out more...

The first anniversary of the Division du réseau transport en commun, more commonly known as the "Unité métro," was celebrated on June 18, 2008.

After a year of police presence in the Montréal metro, a survey revealed that the public feels that the metro is safe at all times of the day.

The officers in the Section métro de Montréal and the postes de quartier patrol the metro stations on the island of Montréal every day on foot, with support from the members of the unité canine and the SPVM groupes d'intervention.

Their roles and responsibilities are related to the safety of all citizens in the subway system.

In this subsection, you will learn more about the territory served by the SPVM officers in the metro and read some prevention tips that may be useful when you are using the public transit system.
