Commandant Martin Desbiens-Côté
An officer with the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal since February 1992, Martin Desbiens-Côté’s career path has taken him to a number of different regions on the island of Montréal, especially in the western, northern and eastern areas. He has held every neighbourhood station rank from officer to lieutenant.
Appointed commander in May 2006, he has enhanced his skills by taking on a number of different functions within the organization: duty manager (Contrôle de qualité and Vigie des opérations policières sur le territoire), PDQ chief in the Montréal-Nord station (PDQ39), section chief in Méthodes et processus, section chief at Soutien opérationnel Est (détention) and, since December 6, 2010, chief at PDQ 24 (Outremont – Ville Mont-Royal).
His priorities are client service, increasing the public’s sense of security, and maintaining the quality of life in the sector served by his neighbourhood station.
Fighting violent crime, road safety, especially in terms of pedestrian safety, and police visibility are the priority issues he plans to work on with his team.
Your concerns are our concerns. We look forward to working together.
