Two St. Laurent businesses were targeted last week by thieves who used crowbars to break in after-hours and, then, blow torches to open up the automated cash machines inside the establishments.
Police are looking for two suspects in connection with the two incidents, both of which took place January 21, one at about 2:30 a.m. and the other at about 3 a.m.
Montreal police community relations officer Pierre Fauchier at Station 7 in St. Laurent said the thieves managed to steal an undisclosed amount of money from the automated cash machine at a service station in the 4900 block of Chemin St. François.
However, the two suspects were unsuccessful opening up the automated cash machine at the other business, a store located in the 9000 block of Cavendish Blvd., Fauchier said.
The suspects are described as both male, one a heavier build than the other. One was wearing a scarf to disguise his face and the other was wearing a cap and black gloves.
