Activités du SPVM

The team at PDQ 7 works to maintain security in its territory, in compliance with the SPVM's global priorities. To this end, the team has established these objectives for 2010.

Maintain efforts against street gang crime

• Continue anti-street gang operations in target areas and continue to develop an integrated approach to the street gang phenomenon, in cooperation with our partners.
• Carry out prevention and suppression operations in target areas.
• Direct Police foot patrols to be in close contact with citizens and ease the exchange of information.
• Organize an annual visibility project in relation to street gangs.
• Continue awareness and information campaigns for youth and our secondary school partners about the Street Gang phenomenon.

Continue operations to counter domestic violence

• Maintain efforts to support the victims of domestic violence.
• Refer victims to the CLSCs based on the protocol.
• Refer victims to the CAVAC.

• Meet with communities in certain sectors in order to provide prevention consultations on the subject.

Enforce driver compliance with the Highway Safety Code

• Reduce 5% of accidents on Côte-Vertu boul.
• Maintain laser and alcohol operations.

Reduce risky pedestrian behaviour

• Reduce 5% of accidents involving pedestrian injuries, mostly on Côte-Vertu boul.
• Carry out prevention and suppression operations to enforce pedestrian safety regulations in the Highway Safety Code.
• Publish prevention articles in the local media.
• Encourage pedestrians to obey traffic signals in the estival season with Police Cadet patrols.
