Imagine a New World is the theme for Black History Month in 2012. To celebrate the event, the SPVM is holding a contest inviting Montrealers to imagine the police, Montrealer or interculturalism of tomorrow.

Use drawings, photos or words to share your vision of the future for your police service and city, and you could be published in our special supplement with up to 100 other creations. Participants can also win one of the following prizes:

• Children 5-12 years old (elementary) – Draw for an iPod
• Teens and adults (13 and up) – Draw for an iPod

From February 1 to March 1, each participant may submit a single project. Different mediums are accepted:

• Text or story (500 words)
• Poem (250 words)
• Comic strip
• Drawing
• Painting
• Photo

Your work must explore one of our three themes:

• The police of the future (uniform, vehicle, duties, values, etc.)

• The citizen of 2020 (traits and characteristics of the future citizens of Montréal, relationship with the city and security service, etc.)

• The new interculturalism (connection and exchange among Montréal’s cultural communities, new intercultural policies, etc.)
