Rôle de l’enquêteur collision

Agent enquêteur collisionThe collision investigator functions include investigating accidents, hit and run fatalities or casualties, major or highly mediatised collisions, as well as collisions connected to automobile chases involving SPVM personnel.

They collect pieces of evidence to identify the causes and the circumstances of accidents, in order to determine if it is necessary to pursue legal action.

Their duties include:

  • studying the investigation files to which they are assigned;
  • collecting victim testimonies, interviewing witnesses and all others involved with a goal to establish facts, accumulate proof and identify the suspects involved in accidents or criminal acts;
  • establishing the description of suspects, carrying out searches to find them and directing the identification process;
  • engaging in arrests and interrogations;
  • directing the investigation files during the various legal stages and testifying before the court following arrests.
