Program

The police cadet program was established in 1992 to allow students who are considering a career with the police force to acquire some pertinent work experience. It also give them the opportunity to determine whether they are comfortable with the job.

It also gives students from every field practical experience on the ground, exciting challenges and a definite advantage on the job market.

To prepare for your role as a police cadet, you will be given a 45-hour paid training program. The Service will provide the uniforms and equipment you need for the job.

You can work full-time as a police cadet during the summer, but outside of the summer season, police cadets only work on certain local prevention programs and at a few mandatory events such as the St. Patrick's Day parade, the Montréal Marathon, the Santa Clause parade, etc.
